Making each step up the Stairway count towards a cure

As I sat there starring at the monitor…I heard a blur of voices around me…a rush of blood come to my head, dizziness, fear, my hands started to uncontrollably tremble.  I felt a numbing sensation of disbelief over come me…

Was that what I think is is? Wait, what am I looking at again? NO, it couldn’t be…NO not me!  This is a mistake, right?!?  WHAT A CURVEBALL!!!

Google Search calls it

Devastated I try to bring myself back to reality…  I am alone in a room with 2 doctors and a technician.  At 40 years old I was told I had cancer…stage IIIB breast cancer. Immediately my thoughts go back to my Grandmothers battle, a long battle lost over 20 years earlier, but I was determined it wasn’t going to happen to me…

Largest Crochet Blanket in the WORLD
+1,800 Ladies participated
Over 3,377 SQ. Metre
173 Blankets each measuring 42 x 42
some making over 20 blankets
What an amazing sight and so inspirational.  Each member handmade their blankets and stitched them together and then finally mailed them to India to be included in this impressively inspirational event.
Once the blankets were sewn together and the record was broken, all of the blankets were donated to underprivileged people across India.  How exciting to help someone in need and be a part of such and amazing part of documented history.  I congratulate all those who participated!
Crochet can be very healing for both the creator and recipient.

Today marks 20 years since you passed.

We all still think about you and miss you dearly.

A beloved mother lost this day in 1996.  It was tragic and sudden.  Our hearts still weep.

I have decided to participate in this years “AVON 39” Walk to End Breast Cancer.

This will be my third walk I have participated in over the past 6 years.  It won’t be easy, but that’s why it’s worth it. From now until AVON 39 weekend, I’ll train to strengthen my body to walk over 39 miles in two days. I’ll also be raising funds to crush breast cancer. This is where you come in.

cell 4.26.16 070I am required to raise at least $1,800 to EARN MY 39, but I plan to raise $2,000 instead.  I hope that I can count on your support!

You can make a donation right here on my webpage by clicking ⇒ HERE ⇐.

If you prefer to write a check via mail, CLICK HERE for the link to print out my donation form and where to send your check.

Your donations will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The dollars you pledge will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family. They will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research, and save lives.

Need any more reason to click that Donate Now button?

3.23.16 cell 013As a late STG IIIb Breast Cancer Survivor…I take this very seriously.  Know that I will be walking with thousands of other 39ers banding together in solidarity and with one goal: to take breast cancer down. So many sisters and mothers and friends have been lost. We see a world without breast cancer for our daughters and nieces. AVON 39 is a force of change that can’t be stopped. By supporting me with a donation, you’re part of it.
